Jason Aldean is headed West for some big television appearances and concerts, beginning with Sunday night’s 45th Annual ACM Awards in Las Vegas. Jason then heads to Los Angeles for a round of performances on “Lopez Tonight” and the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” He’ll also be part of the ACM’s day-after taping of the “Brooks & Dunn – The Last Rodeo” feature. Then he hits the road with Kix and Ronnie for their “Last Rodeo Tour” gig in Wheatland, California, on April 23rd.

Lyric Street Records, Rascal Flatts’ label, will be phased out by its parent company, Disney Music Group. Rascal Flatts will transfer to another record label within the Disney Music Group, while a core promotions team will market and promote the label’s current records. The label roster also included Sarah Buxton, Bucky Covington, Love and Theft and newcomer Tyler Dickerson. Disney opened Lyric Street as its country label in 1997. Rascal Flatts was one of the label’s first artists.

Thursday, April 1, 2010 – One lucky band will have a song produced by James Stroud along with performing at the BamaJam Music and Arts Festival in June in Alabama.

The fest is hosting the Jim Beam Battle of the Bands 2010 competition is open to all and will result in six finalists performing a 30-minute set at Verizon BamaJam 2010 in Enterprise, Ala. “To participate in Verizon BamaJam on any level is among the most valuable experiences an artist can have,” said Trey Wilson, Vice President of Live Entertainment, Ronnie Gilley Entertainment. “All six qualifiers will have a chance in the spotlight at Verizon BamaJam, and one winner will have the experience of a lifetime with industry icon James Stroud producing a track for them.”

Applications for the 2nd annual Jim Beam BamaJam Battle of the Bands may be submitted online at www.bamajammusicfestival.com until Wednesday, April 21. The selection committee will review submissions and announce 6 finalists on Monday, April 26. The winner will be announced live on Saturday, June 5 at the festival.

Since being featured at last year’s event, Atlanta-based group, Blackberry Smoke, has signed with BamaJam Records.

With more than 40 top artists anticipated in the festival lineup, Verizon Wireless BamaJam Music and Arts Festival offers 3 days of music.

The fest is being headlined by Kenny Chesney. Thursday, April 1, 2010 – Mindy McCready’s alleged sex tape is false the singer and lawyer claimed.
They say that Vivid Entertainment, the adult film company slated to release the video “Mindy McCready, Baseball Mistress,” this month, doesn’t have the proof of authorization or authenticity. The tape allegedly shows McCready and a boyfriend named Peter.

The web sites Spike and Gawker pulled a teaser of the supposed tape on Wednesday containing alleged comments she made about pitcher Roger Clemens, saying he was “good” in bed, but with “a lot of problems” with erectile dysfunction.

McCready’s attorney and family friend, Adam Dread said in a statement that he and McCready are “hopeful other outlets will follow suit.”

“We are not aware of the production or release of the alleged film that seems to have surfaced via various media reports,” Dread said in a statement. “However, we can confirm that any illegally-obtained property, and/or fabricated footage, and the release thereof, will be dealt with swiftly following proper legal procedure.”

Dread said McCready was “very upset. It’s been a couple of rough years for her and now this…”

The singer released her first country album in 14 years, “I’m Still Here,” on March 23. She also has been on VH1′s “Celebrity Rehab.”
